My name is Jeremy Kalin. I'm running for State Representative because partisan politics isn't meeting our needs in Chisago County. We can do better only by working together, reaching across the aisle to build bi-partisan coalitons, to secure a better future for Minnesota.
Since moving to Chisago County in 1996, I've worked for ten years with all sides to build coalitions and find common ground. If you elect me as State Representative, I will keep working to find common ground, and I will vote for OUR needs - not the way political bosses tell me to.

My high school teacher once told me, "Don't forget where you come from." Incumbent Pete Nelson votes like he's forgotten where he comes from. Despite bipartisan bills supported by both parties, Incumbent Representative Pete Nelson voted:
- Against money to fix our roads and bridges.
- Against getting our fair share of school dollars.
- Against a decent wage for an honest days' work.
Because of the partisan gridlock at the Capitol, we're all stuck with higher taxes, bad roads, congested traffic, stagnant wages, and crowded classrooms. We've seen the legislative failures and the government shutdown - because legislators sit in their corner saying No. No. No.
It's time we have a State Representative who remembers where he comes from. We need a legislator who remembers how Minnesota got to be the great state it is. We need a leader who knows how to work with people so we can say YES to good ideas, regardless of who brings them forward.
I work as a designer and draftsman for Natural Spaces Domes, a 30-year company in North Branch. My job is to chase down problems, sit down with all sides to find the cause, and help craft the most efficient solution that can improve our products, and move the company forward.
I also represent our County on the Regional Development Commission, where we work with all sides, regardless of party, and craft innovative, strategic solutions to the challenges we all face - Jobs, Roads, Property Taxes, Health Care, Prescription Drugs, Meth and more. Working together, our task is to make the most of limited resources to move the 5-county region forward.
I believe we can and we must get more for the taxes we pay. It's time Chisago County get our fair share of dollars to fix our roads, to help our schoolchildren, and to make things just a little bit easier for families. The time is now to move Minnesota forward.
As your State Representative, I will work for you, not for partisan political bosses. I won't forget where I come from.
